Once a ancient monestery now beautifully restored into a hotel, whilst still preserving the mysterious 
monesterial atmosphere of its past. The hotel is in a perfect panoramic position that embraces the entire 
City of Naples, from the centre to the ancient gulf with its islands and Vesuvius in the distance. It is well 
connected to the historical centre and the whole city using the nearby funiculars. On the seventh floor, 
where the hotel touches the green hill of San Martino, contains the swimming pool and the garden: it is an 
oasis of well-being and peace with a breath-taking view. This sinuously shaped pool extends along the 
terrace, which is equipped with deck chairs and open-air sitting rooms. A second, smaller pool, a 
Jacuzzi, is cut from the tuffaceous rock, offers hot water and beneficial jets. A hanging garden where 
the monks once raised vegetables, a prestigious collection of contemporary art and spaces where you
can still sense the living presence of history. The rooms and the panoramic terraces, the enormous 
garden with a spectacular view that embraces the entire gulf of Naples, the suggestive 'Refettorio,' 
that preserves the precious murals and the elegant hallway, are special elements in creating a unique
enviornment to make your stay enchanting. All 44 rooms, as well as the restaurants and terraces, have 
panoramic  views. They have two conference rooms that preserve the charm of the antique ambient 
from which it was restored intact; they are completely furnished for every type of event, and may host 
up to 200 persons. The Hotel has two restaurants: Restaurant "I Barbanti" which name comes from the 
tradition of keeping long beards, that in time became characteristic for a Francescan Monk, and the 
panoramic restaurant La Terrazza. The restaurant "I Barbanti", is situated in a wing of the 5th century 
convent, proposes a gourmet cuisine with mediterranean flavors and dishes typical of the Napolitan 
tradition. Open from the 1st of October until the 30th of April. Restaurant "La Terrazza" offers a 
spectacular view of the Gulf of Naples. Open during the Summer months from the 1st of May until the 
30th of September.

The Rooms: 
All 44 rooms offer a spectacular view of Naples and the gulf. A careful renovation of the old monk's
cells has preserved their enchantment, architectural structure and several period details. The decor is 
characterized by measured elegance: delicate colours, lamps and classic furnishings. The light and the 
unique colours of the city illuminate the rooms created from original cells. All the rooms have a bathtub 
or Jacuzzi spa and all the most modern of comforts such as: direct phone lines, mini bar, modem plugs, 
safes and air conditioning, Guests can choose between double rooms with double bed or twin beds and
triple rooms are also available.

Location:
The Hotel San Francesco Al Monte Naples is located in one of the most panoramic areas of Naples, within walking distance of the centre, and is well connected to the whole city via cable cars and it is only 10 kilometers from the Capodichino Airport. Many of the city's major attractions are within two kilometers of the hotel such as museums, theatres, store's for shopping and the harbour is within walking distance.

From Train Station:
The train station of Mergellina is about 4 Km away. The train station Piazza Garibaldi around 7 KM. The Central 'Funicolare' station 'Corso Vittorio Emanuele' is approx. 300 meters. The Montesanto 'Funicolare' Station 'Corso Vittorio Emanuele' is approx. 400 meters from the hotel.

From the railway station Piazza Garibaldi take BUS "R2" in the Direction of San Carlo Theatre, get off in Piazza Trieste e Trento. Continue to Via Toledo and take the funicular "Centrale". Exit on Corso Vittorio Emanuele.

From Airport :
The airport of Capodichino is about 10 Km away, approximately 20 minutes by taxi. Upon request, shuttles to and from the hotel are also available.

By Car:
From Naples Airport take the Tangenziale (Ring Road) in the direction of Pozzuoli. Exit Arenella, and continue to Piazza Mazzini and Corso Vittorio Emanulele. From the North, take highway A2; from Salerno, Taranto and Foggia - highway A16; from Reggio Calabria - highway A3. The highway leads to the tollway 'Tangenziale.' Exit at Arenella and continue towards Piazza Mazzini and Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
