The Hotel Accademia is housed in an old historical building dating back to the 14th Century and has preserved all the atmosphere and attraction of ancient Florence. The building was once the home of Bernardo Cennini, a famous goldsmith and sculptor who was born in Florence in 1415. He worked on the creation of the wonderful Saint John's Baptistry and was one of the artists who worked on the huge Baptistry's door and on the Altar, a splendid work of art made entirely from silver (400 kilos) in Gothic-Renaissance style. Some of the items that Cennini created are now on shown in the Duomo's Museo dell'Opera.
The hotel has breakfast room: a relaxing, sophisticated room with a large stone fireplace where a good buffet breakfast is served each morning to start your day.

How to reach Hotel Accademia:

From Train Station:
Only a 10 minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella Train Station in Florence.
Out of the station and make your way across the "Piazza Della Stazione" continue to the PiazzaDell'Unita Italiana" take you first turning on the left, second turning on the right into Via Faenza and the hotel is down on your right.

From Amerigo Vespucci Airport – Florence
The Amerigo Vespucci airport is 5km from the centre of Florence, you can take a taxi to the hotel approx 20 minutes.
A valid option is to take the shuttle bus service that goes from the airport to the Santa Maria Novella Station, and from here it is a 10 minute walk or you can take a taxi.

By Car:
Take the first exit for Florence off the motorway.
Follow directions for the Center ("Centro - Stazione").
Go round the roundabout at Piazza Stazione fand turn into Piazza dell'Unità. Turn into Via del Melarancio and go right to the end. Turn left into Via Faenza. You will find the hotel at number 7.
You can park your car in Via Faenza, in a garage that has an agreement with the hotel. It is just 20 meters from the hotel.

Notice for those guests arriving in Florence by car:
The centre of Florence permits access by car and parking for residents only. Tourists are allowed
access by car to reach their hotels, upon registration of your license plate by hotel reception staff.
Please provide this information on your arrival at the hotel.
